Poser Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 September 2026
Poser is operated by Bridge Business Support Solutions LLC, with its registered address at 2389 Main St. STE 100, Glastonbury, CT 06033, United States. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy and act as its controller where that term applies.
This policy covers the Poser iOS party game and related support communications. It applies to players and to anyone who appears in a game photo, including someone who does not have the app. Contact us at info@bridgebss.com with privacy questions or requests.
The short version
Poser lets people in the same room recreate poses and see the results together. To run the game, we handle display names, photos, reactions and game data. You do not need to provide an email address, a real name or a password to play. We do not sell personal information or run advertising in the app.
Each person must freely agree before they are photographed for the game. Camera permission on the photographer’s phone does not provide that agreement for anyone else. Photos are uploaded to our service and displayed to participants in the game room.
Game photos are intended to be temporary. Cleanup currently depends on activity in the app, so finishing a game or closing the app does not guarantee immediate deletion. Section 4 explains this limitation. There is no built-in feature for sharing game photos outside Poser, but other participants can still take screenshots or make copies.
1. What we collect
Information you or another player provide
Display name and emoji. You choose a name and an emoji for the lobby. You do not need to use your real name.
Game photos. The Director uses the camera to photograph the Performer. We receive and store the photo so participants in the same game room can see it. A photo may identify you even if you do not use your real name or have the app.
Reactions. Players rate a recreation on a slider from Chaos to Nailed It. We store each submitted rating as game data.
Support and privacy requests. If you contact us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and any information you choose to provide. Please send only what is needed to explain your request.
Information generated during use
Player identifier. Firebase creates an anonymous authentication record and an identifier used to distinguish your device’s player session. The app stores authentication information locally. The identifier is associated with your display name, room participation, reactions and other game records. Anonymous sign-in means that no identifying sign-up details are required; it does not make all game data anonymous.
Room and game data. This includes the room code, participants, roles, turns, scores, reactions and timestamps.
Technical information. Our infrastructure providers process connection and security information, such as IP addresses, device or user-agent details and service logs, to deliver and protect the service. IP addresses can indicate an approximate location.
Information the game does not request
Poser does not require your email address, telephone number, postal address, Apple ID or a password to play. The iOS game does not request precise device location, contacts, calendar access or access to your saved photo library. It captures still photos and does not provide live audio or video calls.
We do not use facial recognition or create faceprints. Scoring is based on players’ reactions. We do not use advertising identifiers to track you across other apps or websites, and we do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
2. Camera permission and agreement to be photographed
iOS asks the person using the camera for permission to access it. That permission controls the device. It does not authorise photographing another person or uploading that person’s image.
Before taking a photo, the Director must explain that Poser is operated by Bridge Business Support Solutions LLC, that the photo will be uploaded and stored using Google Firebase, and that participants in the game room will see it. The Director must also explain that participants can make copies, that deletion is subject to section 4, and that agreement can be withdrawn as described in section 5. Each person must have the opportunity to read this policy and must give a clear, voluntary agreement, for example by answering yes to a direct request.
Accepting the Terms, joining a room, staying silent or granting camera permission does not by itself provide consent to appear in a photo. Do not include anyone who has refused, cannot freely agree or has entered the frame without knowing. The rules for younger players are in section 7.
You can refuse a photo or withdraw your agreement without being pressured. Turning off camera access in iOS prevents that device from taking new photos through the app. It does not remove photos already uploaded or control a camera on someone else’s phone.
3. Who can see photos and how copies can leave the game
Other participants. Photos are displayed to participants in the relevant game room. We do not publish game photos in a public gallery or use them for advertising, marketing or AI training.
Authorised personnel and providers. Photos are stored on Google’s Firebase infrastructure. Authorised personnel and service providers may access personal information where necessary to operate or secure Poser, investigate a report, respond to a privacy request or meet a legal obligation. We do not routinely browse game photos for unrelated purposes.
Screenshots and other copies. Poser currently has no built-in feature for exporting or sharing game photos outside the app. However, participants can take screenshots, photograph their screens or otherwise make copies. Those copies can be retained or shared outside Poser. We cannot guarantee that a participant will not do this, and deleting a photo from our service does not delete copies held by others. Our Terms require separate permission from everyone identifiable before making or sharing such a copy.
We may disclose information where required by law or where lawfully necessary to respond to abuse, protect people or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Any disclosure must have an appropriate legal basis.
4. How long we keep information
Game photos and room data. Photos are intended for temporary use during a game. The iOS app attempts cleanup during room-exit and Play Again flows, and checks for stale rooms when a new room is created. Stale-room cleanup is based on room age. It is not a guaranteed deadline for deletion.
Cleanup currently runs from users’ devices rather than a scheduled server process. If the app closes, a connection fails or the relevant cleanup does not run, photos and room records can remain after play ends. We therefore cannot promise deletion immediately after a game or within a fixed number of hours. Contact info@bridgebss.com if you want a photo or related personal information removed; requests are handled separately from routine cleanup.
Authentication records. Removing the app is not a request to delete the Firebase authentication record or other information held on our servers. Local authentication information may also persist through device storage or restoration mechanisms. Contact us to request deletion of an identifiable authentication record.
Technical logs and provider copies. Technical and security records are retained for service operation and abuse prevention under the relevant provider’s retention practices. Firebase states that authentication IP logs are kept for a few weeks and that other authentication information remains until deletion of the associated user is initiated. Removal from its live and backup systems can then take up to 180 days. Provider retention details are available at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Support and privacy correspondence. We keep correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, record our response and meet applicable legal obligations. We assess this by the nature of the request, any ongoing dispute and any required retention period.
Reference images. The pictures players recreate form part of our content catalogue and follow a separate licensing and content-management lifecycle. Licensing a photograph does not mean that an identifiable person in it ceases to have privacy rights.
Where information must be retained for a legal obligation or legal claim, we limit its use to that purpose. Copies kept by other players remain outside our control.
5. Why we process information and how to withdraw consent
Where applicable data protection law requires a lawful basis, we use the following bases.
Providing the game. We process your player identifier, display name, emoji, room participation, reactions and scores to perform our agreement with you and provide the game you request.
Game photographs. We rely on the informed consent of each person photographed to receive, store and display that person’s image for the game. This is separate from camera permission and agreement to the Terms. The Director must obtain that person’s clear agreement before capture. Someone else’s acceptance cannot substitute for your consent.
Operating and protecting Poser. We rely on legitimate interests to maintain reliability, prevent abuse, investigate reports and handle support, where those interests are not overridden by your rights. We process information to comply with legal obligations where required.
Withdrawing consent. You can tell the Director or host at any time that you no longer agree to be photographed or to continued use of an existing photo. They must stop taking photos of you and stop displaying or sharing the affected photo. If it has already been uploaded, they must contact info@bridgebss.com on your behalf if you ask them to. You can also contact us directly. You do not need to have the app or create an account.
When we receive a withdrawal request and can locate the affected information, we will stop the processing that relies on that consent as soon as reasonably possible and remove the affected photo without undue delay, subject to any separate legal retention requirement. We do not require you to wait for ordinary game cleanup. A request may require removal of the whole photo if it contains several people. We will explain any applicable exception or information needed to act on your request.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before consent was withdrawn. We may retain a limited record of the request and our response to meet legal obligations or establish compliance. We cannot recall a photo already seen or remotely remove copies made by other participants.
6. Service providers and international processing
Google Firebase. Firebase provides anonymous authentication, databases and photo storage. Google processes relevant customer data under its applicable service and data-processing terms. Its privacy and security information is available at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Apple. Apple distributes the iOS app and may provide diagnostic reports according to your device settings. Apple’s own processing is explained at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Communications providers. Providers used to deliver and manage email process support and privacy correspondence on our behalf. We may also use professional advisers where necessary to handle legal or privacy matters.
The iOS game does not use advertising networks or marketing analytics tools. Information may be stored or processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where applicable law requires a transfer mechanism, we use the relevant lawful safeguards, such as recognised adequacy arrangements or standard contractual clauses and any required UK provisions. Contact info@bridgebss.com for information about the safeguards applicable to your data.
7. Younger players and people appearing in photos
Poser is intended for people aged 13 or older. A higher minimum age applies where required by local law. Players under 18 must have a parent or guardian’s permission to use the app and appear in game photos, as well as agreeing themselves. Do not photograph someone under 13 for Poser or someone below any higher age that applies to their participation.
We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to use the game. If you believe a younger child has used Poser or appears in an uploaded photo, contact info@bridgebss.com. We will take reasonable steps to locate and remove the affected information, subject to applicable legal requirements. A parent or guardian can make the request without having the app.
8. Your rights and requests
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information; restrict or object to processing; receive certain information in a portable format; withdraw consent; and complain to a privacy regulator. These rights also apply, where required by law, to people who appear in photos without using Poser.
Send requests to info@bridgebss.com. If available, include the room code, approximate date and time of play, display name and a description of the relevant photo or turn. If you do not know the room code, give us the information you do have. Please do not send unnecessary identity documents or additional copies of sensitive photographs.
We may ask for proportionate information to locate the records, verify the request and avoid disclosing someone else’s data. Anonymous sign-in can make matching a request harder, but you do not need to register or provide unrelated personal information. We will explain if we cannot identify the relevant records and respond within the period required by applicable law.
Leaving a room, finishing a game or uninstalling the app is not a substitute for contacting us about a specific privacy or deletion request. The limits of routine cleanup are explained in section 4.
You can complain to the regulator responsible for your location. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office at https://ico.org.uk/. In the European Economic Area, you can contact your local data protection authority. Nothing in this policy limits mandatory privacy rights.
9. Security
We use Firebase authentication and access controls to operate the game, together with encryption in transit and at rest provided by the infrastructure services. Room codes and invitations should be shared only with intended participants.
No internet service can guarantee complete security. A photo can identify you, even when linked only to a player identifier, and a participant may retain a copy. Contact info@bridgebss.com if you suspect unauthorised access or misuse.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Poser or its data practices change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice of material changes where required, including before introducing built-in photo sharing, live video or materially different data uses. Where a change requires fresh consent, notice or continued use alone will not replace that consent.
